General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The report of bronchoscopy indicates there is extensive inflammation (pathological damage) of underlying lung tissues which can pause variety of clinical manifestations ranging from cough, breathing difficulties, weight loss, chest pain, chronic fever or even cancer development.

Best steps can be taken before approach of your consultant as:
- Most importantly needed, and most difficult for you (as you are consuming tobacco since 40 years) is to lessen the cigar per day which will help to prevent further damage to lung tissues
- Deep breathing exercises
- Meditations and YOGA
- Walking in fresh air
- Avoid exposure to pollen (if required use face mask wisely)
- Prefer semi reclining position during resting
- Balanced nutritious diet
- Control of blood sugar, cholesterol and body weight
- Continue your any of the prescribed medications as bronchi dilator, steroid, expectorant or others

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
